Title: Cactus McCoy on Steam?
Post by: Penguin022 on March 14, 2015, 11:51:10 AM
As some of you may know, Flipline finally answered our questions about a few things regarding the platformers, file sizes, and business. You can read that topic here. (http://www.flipline.com/forum/index.php?topic=14741.0) However, Matt also mentioned putting a platformer on Steam. Now, in order for them to get a platformer on Steam, my idea being Cactus McCoy 3, they'll have to get a Steam Greenlight, which means they'll need to get all the fans they can get. I say we should help them achieve that goal.

Any thoughts?

Well, how would we donate or help them?

Why not? Beecause you're not on Steam?

Because
1. I am not on stream.
2. I can't buy

If you guys didn't see it

Quote from: Matt
Yeah we've thought about releasing platformers on Steam, though it's completely different than releasing apps on iOS or Android --- for the apps, whenever we have a game ready we can just release it and it'll be available for everyone to buy and play on all of the app stores.  For Steam though, you have to submit it to "Steam Greenlight", where you wait to see if enough people are interested in buying the game before Steam will approve it.  Sadly some games have to wait for over a year before they're finally approved to be put on Steam (and hundreds of games have never been approved), so that whole process has kept us from pursuing it so far.

I just really hope Flipline can get money off their games.

If flash games are going away and Flipline is still looking for something to work on besides apps, I still nominate Steam. I think you could now is a better time than ever to make it, and it's easier to get a gmae greenlit now, and Steam has an even bigger base. You could focus on apps while also taking a long while to make a new CMC game, maybe as a reboot with aspects of RoS or something. IDK, just throwing some ideas out there.

Yeah, it would make the game more popular, and possibly give Flipline a bigger fanbase.

Penguin, you do have a point. Flipline will get loads of money and popularity if they make a Cactus McCoy 3/Cactus McCoy reboot on steam.

Cactus Mccoy as an app would be difficult to create

controls are the only thing holding it back from an app release and as phones get more advanced this will just become easier so
