Title: Re: Substitutes

I was thinking of maple syrup as a honey substitute lol.
As for the sprinkles, if you guys don't have any, you guys can perhaps crush stuff like blue candy.

Maple would taste weird :-\

Title: Re: Substitutes

I think it might taste better.

Title: Re: Substitutes
Post by: Papl on July 07, 2015, 06:29:04 PM
I like maple syrup better than honey in general, but really, all you're looking for in the recipe Tony posted is something syrupy and sweet. I think maple syrup fits really well since I like to eat blueberry waffles with maple syrup and it's pretty good!

Post by: Theo on July 07, 2015, 06:40:42 PM
Maple syrup sounds like a pretty good idea. I like pretty much this whole thing, except for the fact that I don't know where to get blue sprinkles.

Title: Re: Substitutes
Post by: Papl on July 07, 2015, 06:41:33 PM
Just buy them from some supermarket like Walmart, Target, Costco, and etc. I see sprinkles sold everywhere.

Title: Re: Substitutes
Post by: Theo on July 07, 2015, 06:44:09 PM
Really? I rarely see them...

Title: Re: Substitutes

They should be common at Walmart at least.

Title: Re: Substitutes
Post by: Theo on July 07, 2015, 06:45:55 PM
Ah, I see. I usually shop at Target.

Title: Re: Substitutes
Post by: Papl on July 07, 2015, 06:47:06 PM
Hmm, weird, Target should contain those food items too. I usually go to Costco though, and I don't think they really sell all the sprinkles/icing stuff. If they do, I never check the isle lol.

I was about to make this topic. Wow.

Yacon Root Syrup -> Honey

Agave Nectar is what I use in place of honey

look on the baking row where the flour and sugar and such are. If you look for the frosting and decorations for cakes- you will find all the different sprinkles and such. I generally go to a specialty store and buy them in bulk because I buy about 45 different types of sprinkles for all types of holidays and such!!!

If you have blueish candy, you could crush it. Or buy those little candies that pop in your mouth.

Apples are the colour of old books.

Pineapple Yogurt (or peach, or any other type really) can replace Vanilla. Vanilla is better though.
