Title: Mystery. (Mystery 16 Is Solved.)
Post by: JEBZ Komics on January 13, 2019, 07:43:09 PM

Joey: It says it in the title, ladies and gentlemen. Mystery. That's all it is.

But really, what kind of mystery, when did the mystery happened, and how did the mystery happen?

Do you know? That's the question.
Mystery 1 will come soon.

Mystery 1
Joey: A rich mansion has nine rooms, the billiard room, the dinning room, the kitchen room, the conservatory, the living room, the library, the master bedroom, the restroom, and the owner's office.

The mansion contains a treasure, the golden goblet of the Pharaoh. From which Pharaoh is unknown. The treasure is located in a glass case in the master's office. The key is hidden inside a pot. Which pot it is is unknown.

The mansion's owner was playing a billiard ball game with seven friends. it was 5:00 p.m. in the afternoon. Dinner was starting soon.

The butler was serving drinks.
The cook was preparing dinner.
The maid was cleaning the owner's office.

Time now is 5:45 p.m.

Friend #1 said he wanted to view the conservatory before dinner. (He is a plant professor, that's why he likes looking at different plants.)
Friend #2 said he needed to use the restroom. (To much drink!)
Friend #3 wanted to view the goblet quickly before dinner. (She is a historian. She studies thing that has to do with history.)
Friends #4-7 stayed with the owner.

The butler said he needed to answer the door because the mail came.
The cook needed more flour, so he headed to the cellar underground underneath the conservatory.
The maid polished the glass case to the goblet.

At 6:00 dinner came, and everyone came at the same time, except Friend #2, who came a little late because the restroom was at the other end of the house.

The owner wanted to present the goblet at the table, but when he went to get it, it was missing!

Who stole it? When did they steal it? Where did they steal it? And how did they steal it?

You got 24 hours to solve. I will see all your answers tomorrow at almost the same time. Think carefully. ;)

The butler stole it. He did it after Friend #3 viewed it and the maid polished it. He is lying because 5:45 is too late for the mail to arrive.

I think the cook stole it. Why would he get flour in a conservatory? Wouldn't it make more sense for the flour to be in the kitchen?

Also, the key to the case is found in a 'pot'. It never specified what kind of pot it was in and the kitchen isn't the ideal place for the key to be hidden in considering the cook needs the pots to cook with. I think the cook went to the conservatory to get the key from one of the gardening pots. Since a conservatory is like a greenhouse, there would be herbs or vegetables and fruits growing there, so Friend #1 wouldn't have been suspicious about the cook being there.

The cook then waited until the maid was finished cleaning and Friend #3 had gotten a look at the goblet before sneaking in the owner's office and stealing it. He then possibly hid the goblet in a flour bag and stowed it away somewhere in the kitchen, cementing his story. He proceeded to finish making dinner to further alleviate suspicion on himself.

I know I'm too late, but here's my theory: Someone disguised themselves as friend #3, in order to get into the mansion. Nobody else had to be in the goblet room, so he or she was alone. He or she then found the key inside of a plant pot in that same room, and hid the goblet somewhere to pick up later.

Joey: Time's up! Sorry, but the goblet is gone. The thief got away. The real culprit was Friend #1.
While he was studding plants, he found the key hidden in one of the plant pots in the conservatory. He waited for the maid and Friend #3 to leave and took the goblet and hid it in his bag and went to dinner.
A few of your guys' assumptions were correct though.

Ianiant, it wasn't the butler, because he was telling the truth, the mail came late today.

orihime20, it wasn't the cook, because he couldn't take to long over by the conservatory because he would be late making dinner. (Also, the cellar was just located differently than other houses.

Ninja Monkey, it wasn't Friend #3, she was just interested in history. And she was the real person, there was no one disguising as her. And no one was alone the whole time, they were playing billiard. Only before dinner those people were alone.

Nice job, everyone, on trying to crack the case. The goblet is missing though, but don't worry. There will be more mysteries in the future. ;)

Mystery 2
One of the restaurant visitors was killed. The police questioned all the other visitors.
-I was paying my coffee bill- said Carl
-I was updating my food blog- said Matthew
-I was standing in the long line to the toilet- said Rose
-I was chatting on my phone- said Alexa
Who is lying?

Mystery #3:

There lived a family, butler, and maid in a round house. One day, the Mom went up to her room and discovered her jewelry was missing! She called the police, who questioned everyone in the house.

Mom: "I was downstairs watching TV when I went to my room to take a nap. Why are you questioning me? I'm the victim!"
Dad: "I was at the park with my son, when my wife called with the news."
Brother: "I was at the park with Dad, playing on the playground! Suddenly, my dad said it was time to go."
Sister: "I was calling my boyfriend on my cell phone in my room when I heard Mom screaming. I ran there right away."
Grandma: "I was in the library reading my favorite novel, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens.
Maid: "I was cleaning in the corners of the house. They get really dirty!"
Butler: "I was preparing lunch, which would be served in an hour."

The person who is lying committed the crime. But hurry up, they are getting away! You have 24 hours to correctly name the suspect and reason before they fly out of the country at 3:45 PST tomorrow. I will not accept late answers.

I'll make mystery #4

Mark went on a cruise with his friends. He was enjoying the view on deck when a staff member came and announced:
- Please stay alert! There is a maniac who stabs people on board!-
Mark messaged to his friends.
- Hey, I'm listening to band concert!- answered Adam.
- I'm chilling by the pool.- answered Lana.
- I'm resting in my room. It's my usual sea sickness...- answered Josh.
Mark got scared as he realized one of them was definitely lying!

Who did he suspect?

Title: Re: Mystery. (Mystery 3 is solved.)

It's Josh. Why would someone go on a cruise if they have sea sickness?
He might have been convinced by his friends, or maybe his sickness only lasts while he's getting adjusted to being on a boat.

However, I don't think that is the reason he's lying. I do agree it's Josh, but I think it is because people don't usually get seasick on big cruise ships. They don't wobble around nearly as much as smaller boats, so being seasick on a cruise ship probably doesn't get so bad you need to go rest in your room.

Hey everyone! Sorry for taking so long.
The answer is JOSH. Why would someone go on a cruise if they have sea sickness? And if they have sea sickness, going to rest in the room makes things even worse because the ship is wobbling around.

Brother Z: Alright, Mystery #5  :)

One night at a VIP hotel the 5 guests were getting ready to eat dinner. Then, all the sudden, the maid cries out. She said her golden scissors have disappeared. The police questioned all the guests just in case none of them stole the scissors.

Guest 1: The cook announced it was dinner so I washed my hands before I went. I was walking past the maid's room when all the sudden she said her scissors were gone.
Guest 2: I was visiting the maid's room when the cook told it was dinner. I went out and the the maid said her scissors have disappeared.
Guest 3: I was reading my book when I heard it was dinnertime. I went to go eat dinner then that's when I heard the maid say her scissors have disappeared.
Guest 4: I was looking at the flowers in the pot by the door of the maid's room. I heard it was dinnertime so I went. As I was going, I heard the maid say her scissors were gone.
Guest 5: I was taking a little walk when the cook called me on my phone and said it was time for dinner. I rushed home and was going to wash my hands, but then I heard the maid say her scissors were gone.

Who is lying? Hurry up and answer before the culprit gets away.

I think it's guest 5. Why would the cook take the trouble of calling him on the phone to announce dinner? What's more, he presumably knew that it would be time for dinner soon, so he wouldn't go for a walk at that particular moment.

Mystery #6:

On the first day of school, the principal was supposed to check on all the classrooms, but when the time came, he was nowhere to be seen! The Vice Principal checked in his office, and saw the principal lying on his chair, lifeless. The police examined the video footage and saw that four people entered the administration office: the custodian, the cafeteria worker, the English teacher, and the vice principal. The police asked why they were in the office.

Custodian: I was getting cleaning supplies from the closet to clean up a spill.
Cafeteria Worker: I was getting the menu so I knew what to make.
Teacher: I was grading midterm exams and had to use the scanner.
Vice Principal: I was a little late to work and had to rush to a meeting.

The person who is lying committed the crime. But hurry up, they are getting away! You have 24 hours to correctly name the suspect and reason before they fly out of the country at 3:00 PST tomorrow. I will not accept late answers.

Mystery #7:

A rich old man lived alone in a mansion. He was not in good shape, so he had most things he needed delivered to his door. One day, the neighbours noticed a strange smell coming from the old man's mansion. They immediately called the police. When the police came to investigate, they found about a week's worth of groceries piled up at the front door, all of it unopened and all of it rotting. That, they thought, would be the source of the smell.

However, when they had removed the rotting groceries, the house still smelled like something died in there. Then it occurred to them. What if he had died in there? The police then stormed the front door, but they found it blocked by heaps of unanswered mail and unread newspapers. When they eventually got it open, they found the owner of the house lying dead in the back garden. Judging from the smell and the state of decay the body was in, he had been dead for several days. It looked like an accident, like he had simply leaned out of a window too far and fallen to his death.

Just to be sure, they brought in a detective, since the man had been very rich and influential. The detective went to the first room overlooking the back garden, opened the window, took a coin out of his pocket and tossed it out of the window into the garden. He then proceeded to do this for every other window that faced the back garden. When he was finished, he told the police that it hadn't been an accident. It was a murder.

With the culprit long gone and no evidence to speak of, time is running out to catch the killer.  How could the detective have known it was a murder? And who did it? Hurry, before they get away!

You have until 8 PM GMT tomorrow to solve the case, after that the killer will be too far gone to ever catch him.

PUT YOUR ANSWER IN A SPOILER, SO OTHERS CAN SOLVE IT TOO!

He saw where the coin landed and it wasn't in the garden, so therefore, the killer stashed him in there.

Really? Only one person responded, and even that one did not say who did it? I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed.

SuperMarioBros, the coins did land in the garden.

I realise this mystery might have been a little too difficult. I will therefore give out a few hints, and extend the deadline to the same time tomorrow, if that's okay with everyone.

The old man was living alone. He did not have a maid or butler or any other personnel and he never invited friends over to his house. As such, there are only a few people who ever visited the house. One of these must have been the killer. Take another look at the things that were found there. Who are the people who have definitely been to the house? We may not be able to catch the killer, but we might at least be able to figure out who it was.

Oh, and you might want to update the title, JEBZ Komics. It still says 'Mystery 6 is solved'.

I think it was whoever was delivering the groceries. Why would the food be sitting outside and already be rotting after several days? Depending on the type of produce, it would take weeks for the food to go bad. Another reason: If the old man was in bad shape and needed someone to deliver groceries to him, that means this person may have gone inside the home and memorized the layout. They then waited for the old man to go upstairs to open a window and pushed him out of it. They left the groceries outside, possibly by mistake or maybe it was on purpose.
Who nows?

Again, only one response. However, it turned out to be the correct one! Congratulations to orihime20 for solving the case!

After a long search, the police finally located and arrested the grocery delivery guy. He said that he had left the food outside when the old man wouldn't open the door, claiming he had other deliveries to make, but because all of the food was rotten, it was quickly deduced he had stopped delivering to the old man quite some time ago, knowing he'd no longer need it. When he asked what gave him away, the detective replied: "If he'd really fallen out of the window by accident, the window would be open. I had to open every single window myself."

Mystery 8

Tom the ecologist went on a business trip to the green valley. Someone poisoned the entire water system there and all living organisms in the water died. But Tom was kidnapped and locked in a mansion. There he found a big bucket, 1 meter of rope and a boat. There are 3 exits which he could escape through.
1. Through the window on the roof 10 meters above the ground.
2. Through the forest full of poisonous snakes
3. Via the canal full of man-eating sharks.

Which exit should he choose?

Mystery #9:

The police received a 911 call in which someone was calling to report a death. The police arrived on the scene and saw the room was completely dark. They turned on the attic light and saw a dead body. The interviewed the five staff member there at the time.

Chef: I was making lunch when I heard a scream coming from the attic. I ran up as fast as I could.
Butler: I needed the master, so I called him. He wouldn't answer. Checked in every room of the house, and when I got to the attic I saw a dead body out of the corner of my eye.
Maid: I heard the butler scream and I ran up to the attic and saw the master on the floor, dead! *sobbing*
Tech Guy: I was done with my shift when the police called me to interview me.
Grocer: HEY! I wasn't even at the house! I got this stupid call to come over. The homeowner didn't need me that day!

The detective then knew that this daeth wasn't an accident.

The person who is lying committed the crime. But hurry up, they are getting away! You have 24 hours to correctly name the suspect and reason before they fly out of the country at 4:45 PST tomorrow. I will not accept late answers.

RULE: PUT YOUR ANSWER IN A SPOILER SO OTHER PEOPLE CAN SOLVE IT!

Title: Re: Mystery. (Mystery 9 is ready! Made by SuperMarioBros.)
Post by: Ninja Monkey on March 08, 2019, 04:10:14 PM
I think it was the butler. If he were looking for his master and didn't know he was dead, he would only check rooms where the light is on, as the master wouldn't be sitting around in the dark. If he did check the attic, which I can't blame him for since he didn't find the master anywhere else, he would have noticed the light was off and moved on without first turning on the light. As such, he would not have been able to see the body, since the light wasn't on and the room was completely dark. Also, we know for a fact that no-one turned on the light, since it was still off when the police arrived, and one doesn't turn off the light after finding a dead body. The butler was psupposedly the one who discovered the body, since multiple people confirmed his screaming reaction to it, yet he couldn't possibly have seen it.

However, this means the maid must be lying too, since she also claims to have seen the body. Therefore, what I think is that the butler and maid are in this together, and the maid is lying to back up the butler by saying that he was the one who screamed, when really it was the master being murdered. The chef just talked about a nonspecific scream, but the maid specified it was the butler who screamed.

Mystery 10
A man was murdered on a boat. The police filed three people as suspects.
Bob: I was in the boat's kitchen, eating sushi.
Phil: The Japanese flag on the boat was upside down, so I flipped it.
John: I was having a conversation with the boat's captain.
You have 24 hours (5:43 pm CET tomorrow) to solve this mystery, or else the boat will get too far away for the police to be able to arrest the killer!
Also, put your answer in a spoiler!

Mystery 12:
This mystery is about a notorious murderer who kidnaps people and makes them take a pill and drink water on them.
One pill is poisoned, one is not.
The victim takes the pill and drinks the water, and dies.
The killer does the same, but he survives.
How does the killer always get the safe pill? You have 24 hours to solve the mystery, or else he will get arrested and you can't expose him anymore!

Title: Re: Mystery. (Mystery 12 is Ready! Made by QueenOfRamen)

The poison is in the water, not in the pills. The killer has a glass of normal water and the victim has a poisoned one.

Poison on one side of the knife used to cut the pie., thereby only poisoning one of the slices and not the entire pie. He'd have to eat a slice himself to avoid suspicion, so he couldn't've just poisoned the entire pie.

Brother J:  Mystery 14:

This mystery starts out at a bank that is run by a head manager, two assistant managers, and five employees.  The head manager, after having his lunch that started at 11:35 am and ended at 12:00 pm, checks on the three large money vaults in the secure room.  Vault number one was locked and its money was safe.  Vault number two was shut but not locked; no money was taken.  Vault number three was locked, but nearly half of the money was missing!   The manager informs his two assistant managers; he is convinced that the incident was an inside job.  The two assistants give there recaps.

Assistant #1:  (I headed to the restroom at around 11:45 a.m. and then returned to my desk at 11:55 am.
 Didn't see anything suspicious.
)

Assistant #2   (I stayed in my office until you returned and called for us.  No one went past my office to go to the secure room.  One of the employees came to my office to give me the balance reports.  He returned to the front desk afterwards.)

The head manager calls for the employees to come to his office.  He tells them what has happened and takes notice of their answer and their facial reactions.

Employee #1:    :o  (WHAT!?!)
Employee #2:    ???  (Someone stole the money!?!)
Employee #3:    >:(  (Who would do something like this!?!)
Employee #4:    :/  (That's weird!)
Employee #5:    ^^;  (I...I didn't do it!)

Which employee stole the money?  Which assistant manager was the employee's accomplice?  Also, why did the thief leave one vault unlocked without taking its money?  You have 24 hours to solve the case!  Better hurry before the thief leaves the county!

Employee #5 did it, I guess. He was nervous and saying that's it's not him. Assistant #1 helped him because the head manager finished lunch at 1:35 am going after that to check, while the assistant was saying that he was at the restroom from 11:45 to 11:55 am. The employee probably left the vault unlocked because he suddenly remembered to give assistant #2 the balance reports, forgetting it going back to the front desk. :-\

#4, ans Assistant #1. He doesn't seem shocked the money is gone, and the assistant had plenty of time to steal the money before 11:35

Title: Re: Mystery. (Mystery 14 Is Ready! Made by Brother J)
Post by: orihime20 on March 18, 2019, 02:52:58 PM
This one's pretty hard. It seems so obvious...

The employees were only just told the situation. No one was accusing anyone yet, so that places Employee #5 under immediate suspicion because they nervously said they didn't do it. Assistant #1 is under suspicion because they said they went to the bathroom around 11:45 to 11:55, but the manager ended his lunch around 11:35 so that can't be possible.

But... maybe Assistant #2 is Employee #5's accomplice. They never gave a specific time for when their actions were taking place, therefor they have no known alibi for the exact time spent in their office.

As for the reason Vault 2 was left unlocked, but not emptied is this: They went into Vault 3 first and took as much money as they could before closing the door and locking it. They were about to steal from Vault 2 but realized they wouldn't have time before their boss left their lunch break- most likely when they decided to start stealing- and in their haste to return to their positions to avoid suspicion, they forgot to lock the vault door.

Since E#5 was with the AM#2 when the crime was committed, E#5 may have given AM#2 balance reports(and the money) to further alleviate suspicion before returning to the front desk.

Brother J: No, you're not completely right.  Though you have got the right answer for Assistant #2.  Also, just because employee #5 is nervous doesn't make him guilty.  It could be it's his first day on the job and he's nervous that everyone will blame him.   I also fixed the manager's lunch time detail.

Alright, guess I'm NOT doing the next mystery, then. Shouldn't have waited so long, I guess. Maybe I'll think up mystery 15...

It's employee #4. He's the only one who doesn't react shocked, surprised or panicked when he hears of the money being stolen, meaning he probably already knew about it.

Additionally, assistant #1 is only providing non-helpful information about times after the robbery took place (he mentions 11:45 and 11:55, but the money was already taken when the head manager returned from lunch at 11:35), meaning he's either one of the robbers or a complete idiot who can't tell time. Personally, I think he might be both.

Assistant #2 says nobody snuck past him to the secure room, yet obviously someone did get there, probably while he was distracted by the balance reports being brought in. The thief was only able to carry half a vault's worth of cash, as evidenced by the third vault only being half-empty instead of completely empty. He did not take the second vault's money because it didn't have any money in it to begin with, hence there was never any need to lock it.

Brother J:  Nice try, but that's not it.  Also, as stated on my other replies, I fixed the time details.  The head manager started his lunch at 11:35, and ended it at 12:00.

Brother J:   Sorry guys I didn't close this case sooner.   I got distracted with "important things!"   ::)   But for the sake of you guys, I'll expose the culprits!

GUILTY, BY ORDER OF JEBZ:

Assistant #2:   He said that he only saw the one employee come into his office and give him reports.  The real story is that as the employee gave him the report,  the assistant told him the combination to the three vaults.  He was telling the truth in a way, but to such a degree that he completely hid his tracks!

Employee  #2:    His expression is what really threw people off his trail.   He's too clever to show his true feelings.   He was only seen by Assistant Manager #2 giving the reports;  and the assistant is not going to give his identity to the Head Manager.  The employee tried to make himself seem innocent by responding,  "Someone stole the money?"   Also, the reason for him to leave vault #3 open was to give the Head Manager the false conclusion that somebody just forgot to lock the door when securing money in it.  Luckily the Head Manager was thorough enough to check the third vault!

Well,  sorry about the delay in responding.  But what do you guys think?   Was this case a little too unexplained?  Or was it a really good plot?   Like to hear your replies below!    ;)

So that was how it happened! I think the idea was very well thought out, but the actual information we were given was too little, and open to multiple equally plausible conclusions. My advice for next time would be to provide just enough information to be able to narrow it down to one possibility.

Well, I'd better get to work writing the next one!

Mystery #15:

After months of top-secret research only they themselves knew about, the researchers of CyberBloop Games Inc. finally finished development of the revolutionary CyberBloop Phaser VR headset, CyberBloop's first VR games console. However, a week before the new console was publicly announced, on friday the thirteenth, at a quarter to midnight, disaster struck. The only working prototype of the Phaser was stolen from the vault in the CEO's office! Luckily, the vault was well-secured and immediately warned the police.

When the police arrived at the skyscraper that was CyberBloop HQ, they found that only a few people were still in the building, since it was so late. They asked everyone in the building what they were doing at 23:45. Here are their responses:

Cafeteria Worker: I was preparing the soup for tomorrow.

Janitor: I was mopping the 13th floor hallway.

Company Cat: Meow!

Programmer: I was trying to fix a particularly stubborn glitch in the new VR game.

Security Guard:  I was watching the security camera screens. That's kind of my job.

The police look at the camera footage, and they find the one in the CEO's office shows only a black screen.

Security Guard: Oh, that one is broken. That must've happened sometime tonight, I guess...

With no camera footage of the theft, the police only has the statements of the suspects to help them figure out the culprit. Can you help them? You have until 11 PM GMT tomorrow, or else the thief will get away!

(I know it's a little more than 24 hours, but I thnk you're going to need it.)

As always, put your answer in a spoiler so others can solve it too!

Good luck!

I think it's the janitor. There technically isn't a 13th floor since 13 is considered an unlucky number. Most places would not label their 13th floor as the 13th floor for that reason, so technically the janitor would've been mopping the 14th floor (depending on how many floors there are exactly).

I may be wrong, but it's still a guess regardless. ^^;

Good guess, but you're wrong. He may be lying, but he's not the only one.

So far, nobody has guessed it. One hint: Don't try to find the liar, try to find the thief.

Joey: OK, I'm going with the the programmer. Only the researchers knew about it, and they said it was finished, so how could their be a glitch?

The headset was finished. Anyway, I think it was the cat. He accidentally opened the vault, and was hardwired to take something like the headset.

Mystery 15 comes to an end.

As the police went over what they knew, more and more theories cropped up on who might have done it. The janitor, the security guard, even the company cat was not above suspicion. What's more, every single one of the suspects was discovered to be lying!

The janitor was supposedly mopping the 13th floor, but the 13th floor doesn't exist. The cafeteria worker was preparing tomorrow's soup, but tomorrow is saturday. The programmer was fixing a glitch in a game that wasn't made yet. The security guard was watching the monitors all night, yet he's not sure about when the one in the CEO's office broke.

With none of them having an alibi, it was hard to know who did it. But then Detective Joey pointed something out that suddenly made everything clear. The project had been top secret. Aside from the research department, nobody knew anything about it. It was yet to be announced to the public. So how exactly could the programmer have known it was a VR device, unless he saw it for himself?

The programmer was quickly arrested, and the prototype was found inside of his bag. Congratulations to Joey (JEBZ Komics) for getting it right!

Orihime20, good job on figuring out the 13th floor thing, but try to look a little further than the first lying suspect next time, because sometimes there is more than one liar.

SuperMarioBros, I put the cat in there as a joke. I didn't expect someone to actually pick it! You surprised me with your ability to think outside the box. I guess the cat could actually have done it, though that probably means they have a really bad safe.

Okay... here I go... Apologies if it turns out to be too easy. ><;;

The police received a call from a large man with tattoos on his arms, a silver tooth, and a gold ring. His wife had gone missing while they were out and the man was worried something bad had happened to her. The police arrived to question the man in person.

They asked him what his wife looked like but all he said was: “You’ll know it’s her when you see her.”

The police searched the crowd, turning up three possible women who could be the man’s wife.

The first woman was a tattoo artist with a silver piercing in her lip and silver rings on her fingers.

The second woman was a strict businesswoman who was nervously stroking the fingers on her left hand.

The third woman was a party animal flaunting a gold ring on her right hand.

When brought before the man, he was not only able to determine which one was his wife right away but also was able to point one of them out as a thief!

Which woman is the wife? Which woman is the thief? Determine your reasoning for the theft as well! HURRY! You only have 24 hours to solve the case or the thief will get away!

Title: Re: Mystery. (Mystery 15 Is Solved.)
Post by: Ninja Monkey on April 10, 2019, 10:52:28 PM
The third woman is the thief. She has stolen the golden wedding ring from the man's wife, which would have matched his. The wife is probably the businesswoman, since she is nervously stroking the fingers on her left hand, where normally her wedding ring would be, except it has been stolen. I do not know exactly what you mean by "reasoning for the theft", but I think the thief just liked the ring and wanted to have it.

Since it's way past the 24 hour mark, I just have to say...

  The culprit has been caught!

The business woman lost her wedding ring in the crowd and separated from her husband to find it.

The party animal found it, but decided to keep it instead of turning it in to a lost and found area or finding the owner.

The only reason the tattoo artist was part of the line up was due to the police misunderstanding the husband's wording of 'knowing its her when they see her'.

Congrats to Ninja Monkey for getting the correct answer! ;D I apologize if this wasn't a well made mystery; I based this off a visual riddle while trying to add my own twist to it. Next time I end up making a mystery, it'll be better. Promise! ^^

Yes, the explicit wording of "stroking the fingers on her left hand" and "flaunting a gold ring on her right hand" kind of gave it away, especially since the other descriptions (of the man and the tattoo artist) weren't as detailed. In a picture, it's not as obvious, but when it's explicitly mentioned like that you know something is up with it. Still, pretty good for a first time!
