Eh, what the heck?  Count me in!

I like them, but ten is enough. Papa Louie games, Cactus McCoy, and JackSmith all need sequels!

I agree.  Matt and Tony have been rather negligent of their non-gameria series lately.

Back on topic, gamerias alwayshave a part where you set something up and leave it alone for a while to do something else (i.e., cooking, mixing, etc.)  How would that work in making subs or sushi?

I'm definitely in!  I've been waiting for CMC 3 since CMC 2 came out.

Depends on how much new material it had.

Ah heck, if it gets CMC 3 made any faster, I'd buy it!

I thought I'd give this fanfic thing a try, starting with a little two sentence story.

"Look Roy," said Big Pauly, "I told you, I wanted the sausage on the right, and the onions on the left.  You've got it the other way around!"

Roy glanced at Big Pauly, one eyebrow raised...then rotated the pizza 180 degrees.

8  Flipline Web Games / Papa's Pastaria / First Impressions on: December 10, 2013, 07:14:40 PM
I've made a start on Papa's Pastaria, and I've decided to share my thoughts so far.

-Holidays!  Yay!  Theme decorating can be so much fun!

-I haven't played all the Gamerias, but so far this seems to have the most complicated cooking station since Taco Mia.  Which is great, because it's more fun to actually do stuff than to wait for it to finish on its won.

-Up until now, cooking timers were automatic, so I keep forgetting to turn it on.  Good bet that once I get the al dente timer, I'll start pressing the wrong one.   Grin

-The lowest point, I think, is the Build station.  Geez, I thought the one in Cupcakeria was bad!  I'm up to rank 11, and I've gotten a perfect Build score exactly three times.  Sometimes, I'll get the right sauce, the right toppings, and put them in the right places, and still get 45% or lower.  What gives?

-I like the idea of a dining room, but I wish they had done more with it.

-I love the gondola minigame!

I'll probably add more as I go along, but so far the game is pretty enjoyable.

Build station for sure.  So far I'm averaging about 80%, and have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

Say, do the posters have a cumulative effect (as in, the more, for example mushroom posters you put up, the higher your score for mushrooms)? Maybe I can boost my Build score that way?

Shrimp.  I hate seafood.

Granted.  Then Cactus McCoy comes along, beats the tar out of you, and takes back the Thorned Emerald you stole from him.

I wish I could get eight hours of sleep a night.

A fan?

Close enough.  Smiley

As you might have figured, I'm a big fan of the Cactus McCoy series (BTW, how's 3 coming along?) and consider both games so far to be 99.999% awesome.  However, I do have some thoughts on that last 0.001% and how to bring it up to a nice round 100.

For one, I found the badges/challenges involving juggling enemigoes iwith multiple weapons (i.e., "Swap and Juggle" in CMC 1) to be a real annoyance to pull off; if you insist on including this, at least keep it down to no more than three weapons.

Also, I'd like to see something extra to go with the big bad's weapon when you get 100% completion, such as an alternate ending, or some Easter eggs, or something.  The Hatfield Pistol and Serpent Blade are a lot of fun, but by themselves don't feel like they're worth all the effort I put into obtaining them; after all, I've already done everything, what do I need another weapon for?  But that's just my personal opinion.

On a different subject entirely, someone at suggested a sandbox mode for Papa's Cupcakeria.  It's a little late to add one to Cupcakeria now, but I really like this idea, and I think it would make a great addition to future Gamerias.
