Well, again, being a moderator is more than just a shiny green 'mod' banner. It's pretty much a job, sans pay. That's French for 'without' And you do have to be, if not around constantly, at least reliably 'on call'. And calm, and patient, and fair — but still firm and impartial. Aside from what the Admins tell you to do, if anything.
It's sort of like running for senator or President. It's a heck of a pot to put your name in, and your term can really depend on what the place is like while you're in the position, i.e. what's going on and who's there. Anybody can do it, technically, but it takes real stamina and perseverance. And patience. A whole lot of patience. Just ask D-Walker lately, LOL.
