Does anyone even really know why some people are LGBTQ? Scientists have done multiple controlled studies and tests, and there is absolutely no biological or chemical difference between straight and gay people.
Will you cite your sources? Until then, here's some differences: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biology_and_sexual_orientation#Biological_differences_in_gay_men_and_lesbian_women

There is no such thing as "curing".

Now that I think about it, it possibly could be a mental disorder.
Technically wouldn't that mean everyone would have a mental disorder? Your disorder would related to what gender you feel attracted to and how much?

I meant being lgbtq, i'm sorry if that sounded rude,
that's not only rude, it's also insensitive. That's the kind of thought that supports conversion therapy.

Okay some people need to stop being so mean to the people who don't support it

I support LGBT but if I'm rude to the people who don't I am just as bad as them

Sorry if I sound rude myself now but you just can't keep promoting free thinking if you then attempt suppressing other's thoughts

It wasn't directed to you, since I agree it's not a good thing to say. I was reading through the whole topic and there were posts were people said because they're LGBT, they can make fun of straight/cis people, which just makes no sense. If you're LGBT, then you're different, but you're still the same person and you don't deserve special treatment

It was my fault kahili, he just said that because what I said was jerkish

Robin, don't worry about it. I don't think you intended it with jerkishness.

I don't find what Robin said offensive. I actually thought the same thing about straight people because I didn't understand how they liked who they liked.

@PeppermindLeaf, thanks for mentioning that. I couldn't remember the name of it.

Could anyone explain to me about conversion therapy? Does it accomplish what it intends to at all?

Conversion therapy is pretty terrible. It never actually "converts" people's sexuality (which I doubt is possible but either way) and oftentimes just makes LGBT+ people feel worse and more depressed about their sexuality.

Well, in theory all it is supposed to do is make someone love the opposite gender

But sexuality isn't a choice which is why it can't work.
