Is Calc 1 hard?
I'm taking it next year as a freshman. Calculus 1 isn't hard, assuming your algebra/trig skills are where they need to be. Most people struggle in calculus due to the algebra/trig that is used in a calculus class, not because of the calculus.

you go to school for eight years
maybe nine if kindergarten
In the United States, Algebra I is usually considered to be a 9th grade class. Algebra in 5th grade doesn't make sense, so it's doubtful for someone to get there. That phrase isn't factual anyways, since you can go to school for 8 years and still don't take algebra. I took Algebra in 5th grade, Geometry in 6th, Algebra II in 7th, and I'm taking Precalc rn
Again, how did you get there? There is no proof/evidence to provide here, so the phrase is extremely vague/non-evidential. There is clearly nothing to exaggerate here, because of that. Explain why not the calculus? Because people memorize stuff or what? What makes the algebra skills less sufficient compared to the calculus ones? I don't know why I'm asking this. That's very subjective and not something factual.

It's very easy for most students to understand calculus conceptually. In general calculus is very visual. All three of the major calculus concepts can be understood in a visual way: Limits can be thought of as zooming into to a point on a graph, derivatives can be thought of as the slope of a graph at a point, and finally integrals represent the area under a graph. The biggest idea in calculus is that all of these concepts are related, derivatives and integrals are inverses of each other, and can both be defined using limits. In this short paragraph I explained most of the concepts taught in a calculus class, the rest is just algebra and trigonometry, both of which are used at a higher level than one is used to when first taking a calculus class.

I was homeschooled until 5th grade by my Mom. Both my parents are very smart, so perhaps it's a genetic thing. If you don't believe me I can easily provide you with proof.

There are two possible outcomes.
1. American education systems are just really bad. 2. This forum is populated by geniuses.

I know, I meant that it might be very poor so taking AP Statistics is equivalent to grade 10/11 in Canada.

But how does that equate to a bad education system
Because in the USA and Canada you learn algebra in grade 6 or 7 instead of grade.3 or 4 like normal countries.

@green calc 1 is easy if you are good at math integration is where things start to complicate, but as long as you don't take it at 8am like i did you should be able to handle it.
