I looked at the Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Album of the Year, and started thinking about what the awards would look like if the Grammys took themselves seriously. I understand that the Grammys need to have some relation to what's popular, so I tried to find a balance between what was popular and critically acclaimed in the year of release. Here is my list of what the AOTY and ROTY nominations would've been for the past decade if the Grammys were a better representation of the general public opinion. I kept it down to 5 a year for each category, and albums of from each ACTUAL year (unlike the Grammys were their stupid calendar year). Lmk if there's any changes you would make or any way you disagree. What I thought the winner would be is italicized.
