Forumers will be aged up, but for the most part, not too much. If you dislike an aspect about your character, don't hesitate to tell me. I tried to make the forumers similar to who they are.
Chapter 2
PerspectivesThe gray-haired Jayma sneers at the other contestants from Charngashnar. This is disappointing. These teenagers and young adults look like their most exhausting experience has been at a gym. Typical Charngashnar youth; never leaving their heated cities, never braving the cold, freezing mountains to hunt for bears and elk.
She isn't supposed to be here, anyways; Jayma won the 33rd Hunger Games at only 14 years old. Apparently, there are new rules this year; anyone from the ages of 13 to 60 can be selected, with no exceptions.
She already knows that she isn't going to be a victor this time around, but when her name was called, she was looking forward to educating some youngsters on survival tips.
Especially hunting tips. She's the best huntress in the nation; no animal is a match for her. Man and beast have fallen at her feet; all except one. The most formidable animal in Oros is too bulky and too strong for her, but Jayma has gotten over that. She's in her twilight years.
Jayma reminisces about her being at her peak. She coughs as yet another weakling gets called up. That Alondra girl is nervously cracking jokes with a clearly annoyed Isabelle, and Usopp is laughing along. Worthless! Kenny shows some potential, but that smug look on his face seems like a façade. Who's next? A teenaged barista?
The final contestant comes up silently.
His name is Volt, and there is something about him that captivates the crowd. Serious, but not cocky...
Jayma already knows who she will be training.
I walk up to the altar, heart beating after my selection.
"Good to see you here, Abu!", Hobbes tells me.
I'm glad that I know Hobbes and Robin from the Suxnei contestants, but it's shocking that everyone except Hobbes is a teenager. The Overseer announced yesterday that people up to the age of 65 could be selected, and it's quite strange that only one person older than 18 is selected in Suxnei. We're the largest of the four native groups, and because we're farmers, we're the healthiest by far, especially compared to the badland gatherers, the Gwarashnar.
I'm hoping to ally with Hobbes. He was my geography teacher two years ago, and he knows the outdoors quite well. But I'll have to see who's selected from the other regions first.
I don't really expect to win this, but if I win, then I will be able to see the the other parts of Oros. The Survivalists hate us natives unless we're Hunger Games victors. They live in their fancy cities, while only the Charngashnar and us Suxnei folk have any transport, since we're important to them for resources...
I see that our final contestant is someone named Kanga. The other contestants seem nice, but only Leia has much muscle on her, and I doubt that anyone but Hobbes knows anything about survival. I hope that someone from Suxnei wins again.
Well, let's see how this will work...I don't know yet. At least we have more than two months of preparation in the Survivalist region. I can't wait to see the cities!
I don't think that Robin took this too well. I'm going to go and help her calm down...
