My main concern is the panic buying because of this virus.
It's not the apocalypse, you're most likely fine. And you really don't need 20 rolls of toilet paper.

Honestly, I think that people are overreacting about this. It’s basically the flu (Look up the symptoms), and it’s infected and killed far less people than the flu has this flu season in the USA alone.
Though I do agree many are overreacting, if you don't put in extreme measures to control it (because it is far more contagious than influenza) then you will end up like Italy. In Italy, obituaries in Lombardia have gone from being 2 pages to 10 pages long. Or take Iran, where mass graves had to be built in Qom. Or China, where so many bodies were being cremated (cremation is customary for most people in China) in Hubei that it was detectable from space. It's little things like this that show that, though it's not going to kill even close to most of the people it affects, the people it will affect are going to be hurt. So we have to prepare but be cautious.

And as for in the elderly...well, then it's a gigantic issue, which is why that one Washington state retirement home has had nearly a dozen deaths alone! It's an issue for them, but not for me or you.

I think they worry because they will catch it.
But unless you're really old, then you shouldn't really worry too much.

It's also a brand-new virus, which also contributes to the scare.

Makes me wonder what would happen if Antivaxers got thier way.

This outbreak of measles in Samoa began due to anti-vaxxers and is only ending due to vaccination so this is the best example of why vaccines are necessary:

Being anti-vaxx should be a crime against humanity.

You think that's bad, just imagine how terrible it would be without all the tech we had now.
Without the.tech we have now, schools wouldn't have been able to move all of their classes online.
