7th NZ case has been confirmed and the first outside of Auckland (coincidentally also the first non-citizen, they brought the virus in from Australia)

New Zealand is taking the best measures out of any developed country. The only stricter countries are smaller Pacific countries. Although it's easier for you guys to do it than most others, it is still commendable, and good job.

Looking forward to becoming the most populous country on earth due to other countries dying out

I am concerned about the virus, not for me, I am a healthy teenager, but for the people close to me, they are more sensitive, my grandmother is 61 years old, my great grandmother is 87 years old, I also have a sister under 4 years old and my mother is in fragile health and has had pneumonia too, with a confirmed case in the capital I am afraid that somehow he will arrive here in the city

There have been multiple cases in my city already. My school district closed down because people from 2 separate high schools(not mine tho) have cases. No online classes, just delaying everything for one month.
My dad's saying that viruses like there only get exponentially worse, and we're only at the tip of the iceberg. Sure, there may be some preliminary vaccines being tested, but that'll take a long time.
This disease won't just be a page in the history book. It'll have a history book.
We are in the middle of history. Stay safe, all.

I still worry a lot about my grandmother. We planned a trip to let her visit us before the virus. Now there's plenty of cases of this virus around us, and I'm getting really concerned.

The government just announced that all the schools in the Netherlands, along with all sports clubs and restaurants and such, will remain closed for at least the next three weeks.

They make an exception for children of parents in 'vital' functions, which is stuff like healthcare and emergency personnel, so that they don't have to stay home to watch their kids. My parents don't fall in that category though.

They've also announced that people in their final year of high school (including me) will get some sort of special consideration, but they haven't said yet what that will be, and mentioned they'll announce it later.

I kept hoping they'd just close the schools and get it over with, so I didn't have that looming over me all the time. Now they've closed them and I STILL have no certainty about what's going to happen!
