It seems good, but I’m having some bad feelings about the news station. The comments scare me a bit  Grimace it could be true though! I hope it is. However it’ll definitely get much worse before it gets better

What about 9/11?
The world doesn't revolve around the USA. 9/11 means nothing to most people except Americans.

I hate to break it to you, but that’s really rude. 3,000 innocent people died that day.

It really isn't.

I'm not saying the people who died in 9/11 mean nothing. May they return to God.

But how is that in any way comparable to a worldwide pandemic?

Go and ask a Brazilian, Chinese, Italian, or Nigerian if 9/11 affected them. They will say no (the Italian might say that his country sent a few troops to Afghanistan but that's all). Ask them if COVID-19 has. They will say yes.

By the end of today, COVID-19 will have killed more Americans than 9/11. There were 2977 American victims in the attacks in 2011. As of this post, 2854 Americans have died due to COVID-19; over the past few days, the average number of Americans passing due to COVID-19 has surged and on Saturday, 525 Americans died from it in one day (a decline to 363 was reported yesterday, but for a variety of reasons, this isn't going to become a trend for a while unfortunately). So yes, this is much bigger than 9/11, which had no casualties outside of the United States...

Brother E: That's not really true. A lot of people from other countries talk about the USA.

I said the world doesn't revolve around it. 9/11 was bad for the United States, but it affected almost nobody else.

But not about 9/11. Do you talk about the Armenian genocide on a regular basis? Where 1.5 million people were killed?

No, but it is the worst in most of our lifetimes. The last time something happened of this scale was potentially as far back as World War II (1939-1945); maybe the climax of the Cold War too, but that never actually amounted to anything.

Are you guys forgetting the Spanish Flu?

Either way, 9/11 was an absolutely terrible event and has affected the lives of so many Americans. But, in the grand scheme of things it isn’t the worst thing in the world that’s happened, not something that affected many people outside of the US. Comparing this virus to the attack is not a good idea because it didn’t really shut down as many businesses as this right now, and the virus is now in so many countries affecting millions.

372 non-Americans died, it was the WORLD trade center. Also it changed air travel for the entire world, it didn’t just effect the US

And how does that compare to more than 35K people dying, and growing each day, along with over 1 billion students worldwide being put out of school temporarily and more than half of the world's population being subject to some form of lockdown or quarantine? They are not even comparable.

Are you guys forgetting the Spanish Flu?
Nah, it's just that it was before WWII and WWII was undeniably bigger. But that is one of a comparable scale for sure.

It’s just a comparison of apples and oranges, it doesn’t really work as they have done way different things to people
