Or you could just ignore the directions and see that one equation has a y, and the others have a negative y and just add to get two new equations in two dimensions:
3x + 2z = 9
4x + 3z = 13

Then find this equation for the first: x = 3 - (2/3)z

Substitute this into the second like so:

4(3-(2/3)z) + 3z = 13
12-(8/3)z + 3z = 13
1/3z = 1
z = 3

Now, get this equation back into the other equation:

3x + 2(3)= 9
3x + 6 = 9
3x = 3
x = 1

So, x = 1 and z = 3

Now, one of the original equations was:
x + y + z = 5

Substituting the values of x and z would give us:

1 + y + 3 = 5
y + 4 = 5
y = 1

Thus x = 1, y = 1, and z = 3, or in coordinate notation, (1,1,3).
