Vol. I: Issue 035 August 21st, 2026

Breaking news out of Ketona Beach, where Hurricane LePunch is now expected to make landfall later this evening.

I am reporting live from Springsand Cove, and I can tell you, conditions here are deteriorating by the minute. Winds are currently clocking in around 64 miles per hour, and it is becoming incredibly difficult to keep steady footing. Every gust is coming in harder than the last, and the sound rolling off the water is something you feel in your chest before you even hear it.

The storm surge is already pushing well inland, reaching resorts that normally sit nearly 300 yards from the shoreline. That is the part that has emergency crews most concerned right now. We are not at landfall yet. We are not even close. By the latest estimates, the center of Hurricane LePunch is still nearly seven hours away.

Ketona Beach officials are urging residents to evacuate immediately if they have not already done so. Mayor’s office representatives say roads are still open in some areas, but that window is narrowing fast. If you are in a low-lying area, near the shore, or anywhere under an evacuation order, this is not the time to wait and see.

I have covered storms before. I have stood in heavy wind, driving rain, and rising water. But I will tell you plainly, I have never seen conditions this severe this far ahead of landfall. That makes this storm dangerous, unpredictable, and absolutely not something to take lightly.

We will continue tracking Hurricane LePunch as it approaches the coast, with updates on surge, wind conditions, evacuations, and emergency response efforts. For everyone in Ketona Beach, stay inside if you are sheltered, get out if you have been told to evacuate, and keep your eyes on official alerts.

I’ll be here as long as it is safe to report, keeping watch on Ketona Beach and the storm moving in, because Duke’s Gotcha covered!

Hiya friends!

Duke, please be careful out there, okay? I mean that.

We’ve been tracking LePunch for the last few weeks, and unfortunately, things took a very serious turn on Tuesday. The high-pressure system that had been steering the storm safely out over open water began to weaken, while another system farther north started pulling LePunch back toward the east. Once that turn began, the storm also found itself over extremely warm water, and it strengthened frighteningly fast.

What was Tropical Storm LePunch just days ago is now a Category 5 hurricane, and the current track has it making landfall near Ketona Beach at around 6:00 this evening. Winds at the point of impact could reach 160 miles per hour or higher, along with dangerous storm surge and torrential rain.

If you are anywhere in the coastal evacuation zones, please heed Mayor Trimkin’s warning and leave immediately. Do not wait for the weather outside your window to get worse. Conditions will deteriorate quickly as we move through the day.

Please take care of yourselves, take care of each other, and we’ll keep watching LePunch every step of the way.

The Mumph here, and folks, I am quite literally phoning this one in.

I am on the road heading into Ketona Beach, and let me tell you, it is a weird feeling being one of the few cars entering a quickskip tunnel while everybody else with good sense is heading the other way. Hurricane making landfall this evening, oceanfront warnings all over the place, and my folks are still dragging their feet at the condo.

Why? The cat.

Apparently this cat, who is much more nimble on its feet than both my parents combined, refuses to get in the travel crate. And because the cat will not leave, my mom will not leave. My dad’s bad hip is slowing everything down, and I just need to get down there, get them packed, get the cat contained, and get everybody out before this thing gets worse.

So baseball, quick, San Fresco wins 6 to 2. Urchins get one early, then bang, three in the third. Oniontown gets two back, but that’s it. San Fresco adds two in the sixth, Limonte holds it down, done.

Final score, San Fresco Urchins 6, Oniontown Crushers 2. Winner, San Fresco. MVP, Limonte. Urchins 2 and 0, Crushers 0 and 2.

My two cents, San Fresco looks sharp, Oniontown needs answers, and I need to figure out how to get a hypersensitive cat in its crate. Ahhh, I gotta go.

Here we showcase the amazing karts created by Wendy at the Greasy Gear Garage in Maple Mountain.

This week’s exhibit is a custom kart created for Timm called… The Funky Plum. The kart is an outta-sight box design with flip-top headlight shades. The Funky Plum hustles through the pack with serious style, using its omnidirectional wheel system to slide left and right like the racetrack is its own personal dance floor. Whether it is dodging traffic or grooving through tight corners, this kart knows how to stay on beat.

Vol. I: Issue 034 August 14th, 2026

Breaking news out of the Bavariafield Archipelago, where the BotWursts have officially made landfall on Riesenknödel.

Their new home base will be Ätherstein, an old mining town that has spent years fading into rubble, wind, and silence. Most of the original buildings are little more than stone shells now, but the BotWursts are wasting no time turning the place into something livable again.

The first phase of construction is already underway, with shipping containers being converted into homes, workshops, and shared spaces. Oneita has been moving quickly on the welding work, bringing the same sculptural flair we have come to expect from them. Even at this early stage, Ätherstein is starting to look less like an abandoned outpost and more like a town with a future.

The mood on the island appears hopeful. There is plenty of hard work ahead, but for the BotWursts, this is the first real chance to build a place shaped around their needs, their routines, and their vision of community.

That said, the arrival has also pushed the archipelago’s long-ignored political questions back into the spotlight.

Representative Jingle Lee of the Frozen Zone’s Office of Territorial Affairs met with Concordian officials this week as both sides began sorting through the matter of territorial claim. One major piece of evidence now under review is an ancient map found in Santa’s files, which clearly shows the islands under the domain of the Íssvæðið, the original name of the Frozen Zone.

That discovery does not settle the issue by itself, but it does raise the stakes. What was once a quiet question on old maps is now tied to a real settlement, real mineral rights, and a growing community that needs to know which laws apply.

So while the BotWursts get to work rebuilding Ätherstein, officials may have a much older foundation to inspect. A new town is taking shape, an old claim has resurfaced, and I’ll be keeping an eye on this one as the story develops, because Duke’s Gotcha covered!

Hiya friends!

Hope you’re all doing great out there. For this week’s forecast, let’s head over to Tricksylvania, where they’re already starting to roll out the Halloween decorations for October. Weather-wise, we’ve got a few showers and thunderstorms popping up through the weekend, with Sunday looking like the cloudier and wetter day of the bunch. After that, things settle down a bit, with more sunshine working its way back in and just a few small chances for a stray shower or storm later in the week.

And before I go, a quick little update on last week’s tropical depression, which has now strengthened into Tropical Storm LePunch. It’s still churning away well west of Ketona Beach, and right now the projected track keeps it out over open water. Still, tropical systems can be a little unpredictable, so we’ll be keeping a close eye on it and watching for any changes.

The Mumph here, and I had the pleasure of watching this week’s ballgame with none other than Dr. Puzzlelony himself at the majestic Griller Stadium. Turns out we share a common interest beyond NowTime paychecks and footlong hot dogs, pro wrestling.

After the game, the good doctor invited me over to the Bakewell Bingo Hall to watch some independent wrestling, and folks, I had a blast. Those kids have grit. Maybe not polish yet, maybe not all the footwork, but they were flying around that ring like rent was due and glory was hiding under the turnbuckle.

But back to the game.

Burgerburgh and Tastyville gave us a loud one. The Tomatoes grabbed one in the first, and early on it looked like they might be the team setting the tone. Then the Sizzlers got cooking in the third, added two more in the fourth, and another in the fifth. That put Burgerburgh up 5 to 2, and for a while it felt like they had the grill at the exact right temperature.

Then came the seventh, and holy smokes, the whole thing caught fire. Burgerburgh drops a five-run inning to stretch it to 10 to 2, and that ended up being the cushion they needed, because Tastyville did not quit. The Tomatoes put up three in the seventh and two more in the ninth, but the hole was just too deep.

MVP goes to Slidell at first base. In a game this messy and this loud, you need somebody steady at the corner, making the plays, keeping the line moving, and helping turn pressure into runs. Slidell gave Burgerburgh that anchor.

Final score, Burgerburgh Sizzlers 10, Tastyville Tomatoes 7. Winner, Burgerburgh. MVP, Slidell.

My two cents, this was not a clean little postcard win, but it counts all the same. Burgerburgh is 2 and 0, Tastyville drops to 0 and 2, and the Sizzlers are starting this season with some real heat.

Here we showcase the amazing karts created by Wendy at the Greasy Gear Garage in Maple Mountain.

This week’s exhibit is a custom kart created for Espen called… The DriftShift. The kart is an all-weather longbill design painted in crisp arctic white. The DriftShift stands apart with a quick-change traction system that swaps its road wheels for front skis and rear belt treads, letting Espen glide across ice and snow with ease. From clear pavement to frozen shortcuts, this kart keeps its cool no matter what the course throws at it.
